iOS 14.5 and Xcode 12.5 Updates
Apple has released both iOS 14.5 and Xcode 12.5. Based upon reports from the Looping community, these releases are capable of operating and building Loop. Be sure to update your MacOS to Big Sur and Xcode to 12.5 and then, finally update your iOS to 14.5. There is no need to rebuild Loop, but our mantra at Loop and Learn is to always be ready to rebuild because emergency rebuilds are (unfortunately) not uncommon.
If you are not 100% positive that your Mac can update to Big Sur, do not update to iOS 14.5.

FreeAPS X
FreeAPS X is an exciting new development for DIY APS users. It's been in beta testing for most of April, and is getting closer to being released as a stable version. FreeAPS X is an artificial pancreas system for iOS based on OpenAPS algorithms. FreeAPS X is not a branch or fork of DIY Loop. If you think you'd like to try FreeAPS X when it's out of beta, your next step would be to learn about OpenAPS. As you read about OpenAPS, just bear in mind that your iPhone and radio-link will take the place of the "rig" and entering information into Nightscout.
The plans to document FreeAPS X are underway, but it may be several weeks before any specific FreeAPS X documentation is available. Click on the OpenAPS link to start reading about the OpenAPS algorithm.
